Sometimes the most meaningful support comes from simple conversations—and pancakes don’t hurt either.

A few months ago, Habitat SLO had the pleasure of connecting with Jennifer, a member of the Central Coast Women’s League at the Grange Pancake Breakfast. We had the opportunity to share more about our work, including our Home Preservation program, which helps seniors, veterans, and local homeowners remain safe and stable in the homes they already love through critical repairs and accessibility improvements.

The Central Coast Women’s League is described as a small but mighty group dedicated to “quietly serving good will.” Twice a year, League members are invited to bring forward funding proposals in support of local charitable organizations—and Habitat SLO’s Home Preservation program clearly struck a chord.

Following the breakfast, Jennifer requested more details about the program and ultimately presented Habitat’s work to the group for consideration. We’re thrilled to share that the presentation was successful, and the Central Coast Women’s League has generously donated $1,000 to support Habit SLO’s Home Preservation efforts.

This gift will directly help local homeowners address critical repairs—keeping homes safe, healthy, and accessible, and allowing neighbors to age in place with dignity. It’s a powerful reminder that even “quiet” acts of generosity can have a lasting impact.
