INQUIRY | HOME PRESERVATION
Our Home Preservation Program provides resources and services to low-income and senior homeowners in San Luis Obispo County with two goals in mind. First, to ensure everyone, particularly local seniors have a safe, decent, and healthy place to call home. Second, to ensure the affordable housing stock in San Luis Obispo County is effectively and affordably maintained. All Home Preservation Projects are made possible thanks to generous donations and grants that support our programs.
Our Home Preservation Program typically offers the following types of services:
- Minor carpentry: dry rot, trim, fence, eaves, wallboard repair, or non-structural deck/porch railing or step repair.
- Minor electrical: replacing bulbs and fixtures, installing path lighting
- Minor plumbing: irrigation repair, replacing fixtures, caulking, leak repair
- Painting services
- Safety services: grab bars, smoke and CO2 alarms, flashlights
- Light landscaping: weeding, debris removal, yard maintenance, pavers
- Repairing/replacing fixtures: towel racks, TP rollers, handheld showerheads
- Miscellaneous repairs: weather-stripping, caulking, insulation, mailbox, house numbers
- Appliance repair or replacement may be considered if comparable items are available
