Volunteer

Volunteers provide the essential heart and hands of our programs.
Habitat relies on the generous support of volunteers to ensure the success of all our programs. We invite anyone committed to the vision that all people should have access to decent, affordable housing, and safe, healthy communities to support our work by volunteering with us. We maintain an open door policy welcoming all applicants, donors, and volunteers from all backgrounds and affiliations. No experience is necessary to volunteer; we welcome volunteers of all skill levels to join us as we work to fulfill our mission. All volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Construction Volunteers
Volunteering on a job site as an individual is a rewarding way to serve our community while learning construction skills and building meaningful relationships. Under the supervision of qualified leaders, our construction volunteers work alongside partner families in each of our construction programs.
Construction volunteers are welcome to serve at any time during the building process and may perform a variety of jobs during their shift. Safety training, tools, and materials are provided, just wear work-site appropriate attire and bring your enthusiasm!
Group construction volunteers are welcome; read on to learn more.

Construction Managers and Crew Leaders
Every project is supervised by a qualified Construction Manager, who are licensed contractors and oversee the entire project. Crew Leaders are volunteers who may serve on Build Days, and have experience in construction and home repair. Build Day projects can include demolition, framing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, landscape, flooring, painting, finishing, and more. Construction Managers and Crew Leaders will be asked to take charge on a project, providing volunteers with training, leadership, and support during construction. Applicable licensing and experience will be vetted to ensure the safety of all volunteers and partners on the job site.
If you’re interested in volunteering as a Crew Leader, select the option in in your Construction Volunteer Application, and be sure to denote your area of interest or expertise.
Group Volunteering
Team Build
Team Build partnerships provide a way for groups to give back to the community while engaging group members in a workday that both builds homes and develops teamwork. With Team Builds, the volunteering group, business, or organization provides a donation to the project and helps to coordinate a schedule of construction volunteers for the project. Team builds may be for single or multiple days and are available for groups of all sizes and skill levels.

ReStore Volunteers
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are retail stores and donation centers that sell new and used home improvement and construction materials to the public. ReStores keep items out of the landfill, provide an affordable source of materials to the community, and financially support the work of Habitat for Humanity in our county.
Each ReStore is managed by a full-time employee of the organization who will guide and support volunteers during their shift. Dedicated ReStore volunteers provide valuable services throughout the store including cashiering, showroom organization, donation clean-up and preparation, merchandise pricing and management, and donation pickup as needed.
Individuals and groups are welcome to volunteer in our ReStores.
